A great way to help people

I had written this post couple of years back when I was using Dell Inspiron 1150 and solved the display driver issues with new Windows 7 Beta release then.

I am simply amazed by the fact that it is still helping a lot of people. I am so glad I wrote a post about it.

This is the power of blogging.

You write something worthwhile and it remains there on the internet for posterity helping unimaginable number of people.

Of course Google and Forums play a vital part as people still need to find your post but they are doing a great job at that already.

So if you really want to help people, when you solve any kind of problem, just write a post about it.

You don't require technical skills or even good writing skills. It doesn't have to be a 500 words post.

Don't worry if you don't even have a blog, just email your post to post@posterous.com and it will do the rest for you! (Like the way I am doing right now)

Happy blogging and keep helping!

Copy too... (in Google Docs)

Copy_to

Google Docs are becoming better and better.

I came across this feature today which can be a great time saver for many!

I was trying to copy paste a well formatted worksheet from one spreadsheet to another. When I tried pasting the contents in a new spreadsheet, all the formatting was getting lost. I was disappointed.

Fortunately I saw this "Copy too..." option and bingo! It did exactly what I wanted to.

It gave me the list of spreadsheets I can copy this worksheet to and that's it. The worksheet is copied to a new spreadsheet without losing any formatting or data. Just loved it!

I am sure this feature is around since long but it was too good not to be blogged!

Weekend reading for you

Well I have something really good for your weekend reading and motivation. Couple of articles from an America entrepreneur and billionaire Marc Cuban.

For those who don't know him, here is some introduction from his Wikipedia page:

Mark Cuban (born July 31, 1958)[3] is an American entrepreneur and the owner of the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks,[4] Landmark Theatres, and Magnolia Pictures, and the chairman of the HDTV cable network HDNet.[5] He is also a part-time shark on Shark Tank (TV series).

Marc Cuban has a very popular blog and writes well on various topics.

According to me following two are the best articles he has ever written. Second one is lengthier but I promise it would be worth your time.
